Project Overview
PROJECT OVERVIEW

We produced ‘Oman in History’, a 12-minute 4K theatre show that uses a combination of newly shot location and aerial filming to tell the story of the rich history of the country. Filming of historical objects and motion graphics treatment of archive content is also used to cover chapters as varied as Pre-History, Early Islamic, Renaissance and Future.

Filming covered the length and breadth of the country and included a variety of locations and scenarios including meat preparation in Prehistoric caves, Friday prayers at Grand Mosque in Muscat, harvesting frankincense in the Dhofar region and building of Omani Dhows in a traditional boatyard in the East.

Real people from all walks of life are featured in a variety of scenarios to demonstrate the pride modern Omanis have in their progressive nation as well as their rich heritage. A poetic narrative and specially composed multi-channel soundtrack accompany the film.
